German Car Manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is set to launch their all-new flagship fully electric sedan named EQS in the upcoming years. The Mercedes Benz EQS is a luxury electric saloon which is a full-electric version of the S-Class and branded under the Mercedes Benz EQ series of the company.

This new vehicle is also the first model to be based on the modular architecture for executive-class and luxury electric vehicles. There will be two models named EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC on offer at different prices and features. Exterior
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is a 205.4-inch-long sedan whose outer body looks futuristic as on the front it has got a deep black front radiator grille covered with a transparent material in which the multiple Mercedes logos are embedded.

Above this Grill, a thin strip of DRL(Daytime Running Lights) LED runs over to both of the headlamps. It has an EQS Edition one badge proudly embedded near the front Mirror. At the back also, it has got a thin backlight running from the boot till the Rear lamps. Rear lamps have got a helical-like design which adds a very distinguishing look to the vehicle.
On the front passenger side, it has got a washer fluid port. Also, the handles of the door go inside the body of the door like Range Rover Velar. Talking about the wheels, it has got a 126.4-inch wheelbase which offers a very comfortable ride, while both the EQS variants have got an adaptive air suspension. The vehicle has got a better aerodynamic design which has a coefficient of drag of lower value up to 0.20.
The standard rear-axle steering comes with a steering angle of up to 4.5 degrees which can be tweaked up to ten degrees on order or can be subsequently activated by an upgrade over the air (OTA) update. This angle enables a turning circle of 10.9 metres for the EQS, which is over five metres long.
Interior
The Interior of the vehicle looks very premium and futuristic. It has got an MBUX infotainment system with a 56-inch long Hyperscreen fitted into the dashboard which offers all the features such as Navigation, Media Control, Ambient Lighting control, etc.

It has got Burmester audio system which offers a very crisp and clear audio experience to the users. The standard screen arrangement consists of a tablet-like touchscreen that sits above the dashboard. The massive optional Hyperscreen consists of three distinct screens.
These screens include the 12.3-inch 3D instrument cluster, the 17.7-inch central display, and a 12.3-inch passenger-side touchscreen display. Like most of the luxury vehicles, to add aesthetics, the vehicle has also got Ambient lighting.
The quality of materials used in the dashboard and seats will be very premium which will offer extra comfort to the passengers. Also, a lot of work has been done to make the cabin noise-proof and pleasantly breathable.
Mercedes-Benz EQS Performance and Battery
The Mercedes-Benz EQS will be available in two variants with different power options. Both the variants named EQS 450+ equipped with 245 kW motor and 580 4MATIC equipped with 385 kW motor will come with a 107.8kWh battery pack, which will offer a range of 478 miles (770km) on a single charge.
As the vehicle will be available in two variants named EQS 450+ which is a rear-drive powertrain variant that offers a 329-hp power and 406 pound-feet of torque. The other variant EQS580 4Matic which is an all-wheel-drive variant that offers 516-hp power and 611 pound-feet of torque. Talking about the acceleration, it has been estimated that the EQS 450+ variant with rear-drive will offer acceleration of zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
While the more powerful variant named EQS 580 4MATIC with all-wheel-drive is said to deliver acceleration of zero-to-60-mph time in 4.1 seconds. The battery of this luxurious EV can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in approximately 11 hours and 15 minutes using a 240-volt (Level 2) onboard AC charger. But also the EQS can be fastly charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes using a DC fast charger network named IONITY (joint venture founded by the BMW Group, Daimler AG/Mercedes, Ford Motor Company, and Volkswagen Group).

A smart power management system has been developed and embedded into it by the Company which efficiently manages the power. In Europe, the company has also committed to provide free charging to buyers for a year.
Features and Comfort
The New EQS is a whole package of comfort and features. Apart from Multiple screens, it is expected to come with a fingerprint scanner for activating driver profiles of multiple drivers. It will also have a Voice command control, and AR(augmented-reality) navigation in the head-up display. Every model will also have six USB-C charging ports inside the cabin.
Apart from these, the vehicle will be having essential features such as, including adaptive cruise control and self-parking assist, etc. It has got a very distinguishing Electric Intelligence feature which plans the fastest and most convenient route, including charging stops, based on numerous factors, and reacts dynamically to traffic jams or a change in driving style.
Charging stations in the way of the route that has been added manually are given preference while making the route calculation and the Proposed charging stations can be excluded from the list. The estimated charging costs per charging stops are calculated.
It is a very intelligent vehicle with 350 sensors installed in it which record distances, speeds, and accelerations, lighting conditions, precipitation and temperatures, seat occupancy as well as the driver’s blink of an eye or the passengers speech. The new EQS is so intelligent that it can expand its capabilities based on new experiences because it is highly capable of learning due to the availability of artificial intelligence (AI).
