Swagman Exhaust the Legacy

Before starting this article I would like to clarify some statement that might arise in the mind of readers. This work in no manner is promotional material for Swagman Exhaust. I am personally writing about Swagman because I felt compelled to do so with my own good reasons. Here I will not talk about their product range but the experience that I gathered dealing with the owner of the brand Mr Samrat Chopra. So without any delay let us talk about the Swagman and its legacy.

How to came to know about Swagman

I was actually looking for some performance enhancement for my Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. There  are somethings that I actually do not like about my bike. But I will talk about them in some of our upcoming works but yes it was all about these things that I want to get my bike customized. So along with all those cosmetic choices, the exhausts were actually the first choice of most of the riders.

while its been months watching endless videos of just a few options on the market, I was not completely in line with common stuff. Mostly there are several variations of just two basic shapes; reverse cone and megaphones some big, some small but mostly just reverse cone and megaphone. I remember a British person reviewing an orange interceptor with a very beautiful looking reverse cones on but those are not available anywhere near me and the cost of bringing the package is abrupt.

I was aware of the brand previously during my days of riding a 500 cc Royal Enfield classic but with several other options on desk a particular company is very easy to be overlooked. I saw a YouTube video of Swagman drone exhausts for Royal Enfield 650 Twins and I instantaneously developed my liking for their new product.

My first interaction with Mr Samrat Chopra of Swagman

From the above mentioned YouTube video, I picked up the mobile number of Mr Samrat Chopra and dialed, yeah just right after the video is finished. Within the first couple of rings, he picked up the phone. I introduced myself and to my surprise the was very polite. Previously, I have also talked to owners of competition of Swagman and never have I been received so much enthusiastically and politely. People sometimes confuse aggressive talking with enthusiasm but he did not. Mr Samrat sounded very confident genuinely worried about customer and very polite.

At the phone, we discussed the intention behind the design, the design itself, material, process, experience and several other things.

Surprised! yeah, I was too. Never have I been received so well by an owner of a company. Especially when I am just one customer looking forward to having just one unit of his products line,

He informed me that the product in the video was a test and he was testing it on his own interceptor chrome variant. It will be 15-20 days more before I can expect my own Swagman drone exhaust for interceptor 650.

Closing my purchase with Swagman

After 17-18 days of our first interaction, I got a call from Mr Samrat Chopra. He told me that a pair of slash-cut Swagman drone exhausts for Royal Enfield 650 twins are here for packaging and can be ready to ship by tomorrow.

I have agreed upon payment terms and I asked him to wait for a couple of days so that I can arrange money. It took me three days to squeeze out payment and deposited the same in his account.

Within two days the package arrived. What happened next with installation is due in the upcoming article. At the closure, I would like to illustrate in a short note that why I developed an instant liking for the Swagman.

Swagman Exhausts: The legacy.

After concluding our first sale, we didn’t stop our interaction. Past few months we have been talking about different things. Surely there are several Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 exhausts and other accessories. He touched several other topics and for a couple of times, we talked about the history and legacy of Swagman, the inspiration behind putting up the company and about finding the strength to carry on.

As our interaction progressed I came to know about the integration of some previously running companies to bring up the Swagman. As displayed on their website…

I came to know that Mr Samrat himself is an avid bike lover. He has a Royal Enfield classic 350, A Harley Davidson 750, and a brand new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 glitter and dust. He is also a big fan of screaming eagle performance range by Harley Davidson not just for the boost of performance but also for the technicality involved in quality aftermarket parts. In his own words,”

I was noticing for a long time that people want to have good sound but unfortunately, they are just getting loud pipes. The manufacturing procedure of exhausts systems was in our portfolio but we were mostly making exhaust for 100 cc bikes and scooters.

In 2015 we stepped up our game for higher cc bikes and started making products for Royal Enfield bikes.

Most of the times customer doesn’t know how the engine, mileage, pickup, and other parameters work works affecting the overall health of bikes. What majorly our competition is offering are low-quality steel hollow pipes at high prices. But we are focusing on delivering high-quality products matched with fun-loving sound. ”

When I got my Swagman drone exhausts for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Twins, I believed him.
