Need of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) : The most beautiful moment for a women is becoming a mother, there was a time when some females were not able to get this opportunity throughout there lifetime but now with the help of science and technology it is possible for every woman to get pregnant and enjoy the journey of motherhood. IVF is one of them. When the pregnancy is normal and natural then it is known as conception or non-assisted reproduction, whereas in infertility either related to man or woman; making pregnancy possible by IVF is an ART though it is known as Assisted Reproductive Technology with the no age barrier.
Brief Information of Procedure of IVF
Step 1
The full form of IVF is In Vitro Fertilization which is the artificial process of fertilising the egg by combining it to the sperm outside the body the process is performed under the strict supervision in the laboratory. The eggs or ovum is received from women’s ovaries and fertilised with the sperms received from a man. In IVF the first and most important step is the formation of zygote i.e. a fertilised egg then the zygote is further processed for the embryo culture for around 4-6 days.

Step 2
After the embryo culture the next step is it’s implantation in female uterus, if mother has a weak uterus then it can be implemented to so other woman and the process is well known as surrogacy where there is a legal documentation by another woman of becoming pregnant on behalf of the mother to give birth to the child and then hand it over to the mother after giving birth. So here science of IVF is a blessing for all the women who wish to become mother irrespective of there physical conditions.
IVF Story
The IVF technology is around 30 yrs old and the first baby who was successfully born with IVF was a baby girl named as Louise joy brown, England. The pioneer of IVF and reproductive medicine was Sir Robert Geoffrey Edwards who was also awarded by the noble prize in psychology or medicine.

IVF: Costing and risks
The IVF is pretty much expensive and might cost around 7 Lac for one successful pregnancy, but let me aware you that working against nature may bring you some kind of risks too as:-
- There could be multiple births if more embryos are transferred which may impact the weight and size of the foetus whereas can cause early or premature delivery which is directly related to the growth and development of the foetus.
- Another threat is the hyperstimulation syndrome of ovaries in which there occur pain and swelling in Fallopian tube or ovaries.
- There could be birth defects in the foetus if the age of the mother is more than 40 and the chances of miscarriage are similar to that of normal pregnancy that is more or less 20 %.
But although something is always better than nothing so having a child through IVF may bring you emotional, physical and financial stress but if you are passionate about having your own baby then these things may not count much.

With the time and age thoughts and perceptions are changing and becoming practical with emotions , so in my own views I don’t know how much they are compatible to your views , I personally vote for adoption in such situations as we all being human are absolutely complete in ourselves and doesn’t need anything else to complete us neither a partner nor a child but as we are social animals so we surely need someone to make a happy living. The motive should always be having a happy family. In orphanages, children are alone always looking to have loving parents and this could be a humanitarian step for a couple to adopt a child and complete families of each other…. Good luck great living.
