Healthy Recipes for Fasting : 4 recipes for Good Health

Fasting , the word itself is so divine and powerful. All of us plays certain different roles in our lives which defines our existence and importance. In Navratri the 9 forms of Devi Durga are best dictator of a lifespan of a woman.  These 9 days devotion to Devi Durga is well performed by fasting. Above all, fasting comes with a lot of oily food consumption as per our culture. So, here in a concern of everyone’s good health . I am sharing some nutritious and healthy recipes for fasting.

Healthy Recipes for Fasting

Samak Rice: wide used and easy Healthy recipes for Fasting

  • Take 1 small bowl (75gm) of Samak rice per person.
  • Wash it and place it aside.
  • Chop 1 tomato, 1 potato, 1 green chilli, and grate a small piece of ginger.
  • Put 1 table spoon of ghee in frying pan or cooker and let it get hot. Then add cumin seeds to it.
  • Place all raw ingredients in pan along with some rice, stir for 30 sec. Then add black pepper and rock salt to taste.
  • Put the lid and cook it as you cook normal pulao. In cooker it requires 2 whistles. Now you can enjoy the tasty and healthy food in fast also.

Kuttu ( buckwheat) and Loki chilla

  • An amazingly tasty dish with a high nutritional value.
  • Peel and Grate a piece of bottle guard (Loki)  as per requirement.
  • Add kuttu flour and salt to taste, then make a loose paste to make chilla.
  • prepare it on nonstick tawa.

Sabudana tikiya – one of my favourite Healthy recipes for Fasting

  • Soak 200 gm Sabudana for 2 hrs., then drain whole water and place it aside in a sieve.
  • Take 4 medium size boiled potatoes. Peal it, and mash it with sabudana.
  • Add some salt to taste and grinned peanuts.
  • Add some chopped coriander and green chilies.
  • Mix them all together and give round ball like shapes. You can shape it in your own way and liking.
  • Preheat a prying pan and put some oil with a silicon brush. It would be better to prepare in air fryer if you have it at home. A crispy, tasty and healthy recipe is ready to serve.
  • with the above items you can also prepare sabudana Khichdi. You don’t need to mesh it just use them separately and make a poha like preparation.

Kuttu/Singhada roti with Aloo/ Loki saag

These gluten-free flours has there own benefits. One of the healthiest and easy to make preparations among all healthy recipes for Fasting . These flours helps in reducing weight if you consider in your daily diet. Kuttu and Singhada flours helps in reducing blood pressure, diabetes and specially kuttu is beneficial in reducing the asthmatic problems in children. So, here Is the easy, tasty and healthy meal recipe during fasts.

  • knead 200 gm of kuttu or Singhada flour, make a soft dough  and keep it aside for 10 min.
  • Meanwhile peal and chop Loki or aloo, whichever you would like to eat.
  • chop some tomatoes, coriander (if you like it),green chilli and grate a piece of ginger.
  • Put a tea spoon of  ghee in cooker and add cumin seeds.
  • Add either Loki or aloo in it and stir for a while. Then add all chopped ingredients along with rock salt and black pepper to taste and put a lid on it.  The yummy healthy veggie is ready in just 2 whistles.
  • Take the dough And make small chapatis with it. These kuttu and Singhada flours are gluten free so they are not easy to shape. Though you can use a poly bag and make chapatis into it. Prepare it on nonstick tawa.

Fast doesn’t mean to abandon eating for long. It means Healthy eating to detox your body and soul. Keep in mind tha almighty doesn’t get happy with the empty stomach. Yes but get very happy with good karmas and soul healing.  Eating in specific intervals is very much important for the health of our body and organs.
